JUNIOR POST-SECONDARY PLANNING LESSONS on January 9th
Counselors recently visited junior English classrooms to work with students on career exploration using the CCGI (California College Guidance Initiative) website:
Counselors recently shared valuable information with seniors to help them get started on completing their 2025-2026 FAFSA or CADAA. This is required for students to access funding for community college (including the College Promise program - two years of free tuition), trade school, a career/technical school or a university. Please refer to this presentation and checklist:
CLASS OF 2025 POST SECONDARY PLANNING (PSP) MEETINGS
Counselors met individually with each senior during September and October to discuss their post-secondary goals and share information to help them take steps to pursue these goals. This is a follow up to the lessons in classrooms in May, when students attended the presentation of their choice, focusing on either four-year universities or community colleges, trade schools, military, etc.
Counselors will meet again with each individual student at the end of January/beginning of February.
COLLEGE BOUND JUNIORS: Consider registering for the ACT/SAT Exams.
The CSU/UC universities are no longer using ACT/SAT test scores for admissions purposes. However, other universities may require one of these exams, or they may have a test-optional policy, which means an excellent score can add value to an application. They may be required by specific programs or scholarships. Please visit www.collegeboard.org to register for the SAT Exams. Students can access personalized test prep based on their PSAT results through their College Board accounts. Please visit www.act.org to register for the ACT Exam. Students may prepare for these exams using the online tools listed under Testing Info to the left.
