New News:

It's Mental Health Matters Month!  Share Your Story About Mental Health! Mental Health Matters Month is coming to a close this week and we hope you've taken a moment to start a conversation about mental health, practice self-care, or wear some lime green.  A big factor in reducing stigma around mental illness is speaking up about why it's important to you or sharing your story to empower others.  Prominent anti-stigma researcher, Patrick Corrigan, has studied the effects of those who frequently disclosed aspects of their mental illness.  Corrigan found that people who share their story get a sense of personal empowerment that enhances self-esteem and promotes confidence to seek and achieve individual goals.  Ready to speak up?  Share your story.  Your GRC and Peer Listeners are always here to listen, but we are putting on a special even this coming TOMORROW in front of the library called Sidewalk Talk.  Enjoy a casual listening, win some cool lime green swag, and take a pledge to reduce stigma around mental illness and encourage people to seek help.
