Thank you for visiting the GHS Counseling webpage! Please use the links on the left to find valuable information for parents and students. Upcoming events can be found below. If you need further assistance, counselors are available by appointment, Monday through Friday from 8am to 3pm.

Please visit us in our new Counseling Office and our new College & Career Center, located on the second floor of the new Main Office/Student Services building!

One session of summer school will be offered at GHS from June 12th - June 30th from 7:30am-12:30pm.  Students may make up a D or F in one semester course.  Applications are accepted on a first come, first served basis.  Please click here for the summer school application.

Did you request an honors or AP course for next year?

Please click here for an assignment for Sophomore English.  It is recommended that you get a head start by completing this work during the summer!  Students who do not complete this during the summer will need to read 15-20 pages and work on the study guide each night during the first three weeks of school.

Please click here for the suggested reading (not required) for 11th grade AP English Literature and 12th grade AP English Language.

There are no summer reading assignments for honors/AP social science courses, nor freshman honors English.

We hope you were able to join us for our Course Planning Expo on March 2nd.  Below are links to the grade-level presentations we discussed.

Counselors will be meeting with individual students throughout the month of March and the first week of April, to review their transcripts and course selection forms.

SENIORS:  Complete your FAFSA application now!

The Cal Grant and Dream Act deadline for financial aid from the state of California passed on March 2nd.  However, students may still complete the FAFSA in order to apply for federal funds.    Even students who don't think they qualify for grants may be eligible for student loans.  Some merit scholarships require the FAFSA to be completed as well.  Counselors visited seniors in their government and economics classes in the fall to review important financial aid information.  Click here for the presentation.
